They are competitors in the same industry, but members of Fodernetværk meet with a focus on knowledge sharing, networking and sparring, so they can better avoid costly mistakes.
Denmark is generally a highly regulated country with many rules for production and trade. This also applies to the country's suppliers of raw materials to the feed industry and feed producers, who must navigate and comply with a complex and ever-growing body of legislation in the area.
To meet the challenges, the 31 members of the Feed Network have chosen to share their experiences. This is done under the guidance of our compliance specialists in Mediator. It is worth its weight in gold for everyone to stay updated with current trends, legislation and the experiences of one's colleagues.
Knowledge sharing between colleagues
At Mediator, we have served as hosts and presenters for the network's seminars since January, where topics such as new legislation, vitamin A in finished feed and fermentation of feed to replace zinc have so far been discussed.
At the English-owned feed company A-One, the arrival of Mediator and their focus on legislation has been a great benefit.
"It can be very difficult to navigate what the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration is currently looking for, and what you need to pay special attention to. We are not lawyers, and cannot solve all legal issues ourselves. Therefore, it has been very useful to be updated on the latest changes in legislation, and Claus from Mediator has been really good at spreading the knowledge and experience that they have in the legal field."
– Nette Andersen, Head of Administration A-One Denmark
According to Nette Andersen, it has been equally important that the presentations have allowed the network members to participate with their own experiences and issues, so that everyone has been able to learn and be well prepared to take action themselves. A point that Susanne Hørby Christensen, quality manager for feed producer Mollerup Mølle, supports.
"For the meeting, it wasn't important that we compete with each other in many areas. There was no sales or strategy talk. We were there to help each other so that in the future we can benefit from each other's experiences, improve our results and hopefully avoid mistakes that, in the worst case, could cost one of our companies dearly."
– Susanne Hørby Christensen.
The feed network is the only one of its kind in the country and Nette Andersen and Susanne Hørby Christensen both hope that more producers will want to participate in the next events so that the platform can become even stronger.
If you are interested in becoming a member of the network, you are welcome to contact us at Claus Amstrup Poulsen. The next event is a company visit at KMC on October 13th.
