Transport document
What is a transport document?
A transport document can be, for example, a bill of lading, delivery note, invoice, waste declaration or similar.
Dangerous goods must always be accompanied by a transport document (cf. ADR Chapter 5.4).
What should the transport document contain as a minimum?
When you prepare a transport document, there is a number of information that you must ensure is included. It is a legal requirement that the transport document contains at least:
- UN number indicated by the letters UN before the four-digit UN number
- Technical name or NOS designation followed by the ingredients in brackets
- Class designation (hazard label) and if there are secondary hazards, these must be stated in brackets.
- Packing group (if available)
- Number and description of packages (not required for tank transport)
- Quantity (stated either in kg or liters)
- Sender and receiver.
