Self-inspection of hand fire extinguishers

Get ready to perform self-inspection of hand fire extinguishers in accordance with current Danish rules and standards. Our course in Self-inspection of Hand Fire Extinguishers gives you the necessary skills to perform correct and documented self-inspection of hand fire extinguishers. The course reviews the requirements for self-inspection according to DS2320:2020 and the Building Regulations BR18 and prepares you to carry out the task as an expert.

The course gives you the necessary professional insight into, among other things:

• The structure, function and operation of the hand fire extinguisher.
• Requirements for correct signage and functionality.
• Assessment of operating pressure, sealing and visible damage.
• When can a hand fire extinguisher be approved, sent for service or discarded?

The course is aimed at employees who perform or are responsible for self-inspection and who must be able to perform the inspection correctly.

The practical

• Duration: 3 hours, including time allocated for the final exam.
• Language: We teach in Danish, and all course material is in Danish.

The course is held here at Mediator in Kolding. If you are more than 5 people, we would recommend that we come to you and hold the course especially for you.
The course is based on Mediator's own teaching material, which will be provided. We focus on the practical, visual inspection of hand fire extinguishers in buildings and on vehicles.

The training combines theory and practice and goes through the visual self-inspection step by step, without any mechanical interventions, activation of the extinguisher or replacement of parts.
The course qualifies you to perform self-inspections of hand fire extinguishers. The course provides not competence to carry out service inspections, pressure testing or other work that requires an authorized workshop.

We emphasize that after the course, participants can independently:

• Assess whether a hand fire extinguisher appears functional,
• Identify critical errors and deficiencies,
• Use self-check labels correctly,
• Make professionally justified decisions as an expert.
