New EU requirements for webshops: Product safety and accessibility
Webshops that sell to consumers must comply with two new sets of regulations. The EU's General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) will impose stricter requirements for product information and labeling for online sales from December 2024. In addition, new accessibility requirements will apply from June 2025 to ensure that webshops can be used by everyone - including people with disabilities. The Danish Safety Technology Authority supervises and points out that failure to comply can lead to injunctions and fines.
