A new group of PFAS has been banned from manufacturing, marketing and use as of February 25, 2023.
A group of long-chain PFAS (C9-C14 PFCA) has now been banned in the EU, except for certain time-limited exemptions. The exemptions apply, among others, to fire-fighting foams, but with several requirements, for example that all releases are collected during testing.
