The EU has expanded requirements for labeling allergenic perfumes

The legislation updates Annex III of the regulation with 56 new substances that must be indicated on the label on the INCI list if they are present in the cosmetic product above the limits specified above.
New allergens on the list include Menthol, Pinene, Terpineol, Linalyl Acetate, Camphor, Vanillin, Geraniol derivatives: Geranial and Geranyl Acetate, as well as well-known essential oils, such as ylang-ylang oil (Cananga Odorata Flower Oil), citrus oils (Citrus Limon Peel Oil, Lemongrass Oil), and lavender oil (Lavandula Officinalis Flower Oil), as well as a wide range of other substances.

The following deadlines apply for compliance with the legislation:
31 Jul 2026 New products on the market
31 Jul 2028 (Withdrawal of) existing products on the market

We would like to encourage our cosmetics customers to already ask suppliers of perfume mixtures for a new updated allergen list (82 allergen list).
